Autumn Bonesteel was added again to the map and I was wondering if some one could tell me how I go about deleting one of them. If some one else takes care of that then the one that is posted closest to Dakota Clancy is the one I would like to remain on the map. Thank you so very much.

Sorry I guess wording it the way I did really doesn't help huh considering that Dakota Clancy is right in the middle of both of Autumn's. The one I want deleted is the one right next to Davis Guy from Yulee Florida. Thank you and sorry for the mix up.

Hi Tracy,

I was the one that transferred all of the "pins"  from the old map to this one.  Unfortunately, I don't have access to delete.

Brandy do you?

Sorry....

Hello,

I deleted the extra entry.  I believe it was the correct one, please let me know if it was not.

Yes Brandy you deleted the correct one, thank you very much.
Kelly thank you for taking the time to add every one back to the map. I look at it often because it amazes me how one side of the map has so many children than the other, so thank you for taking the time to get every one back on there. I have been following 3 AT/RT stories and I wanted to add these children to the map but I'm a little map illiterate, if I send you their locations can you add them if their not already on there. I think also making sure that these children are being put on the map will show people that this tumor is NOT as rare as the doctor's and many others think it is. When you can come onto a site and read of 5 children passing in 6 days that to me is NOT "rare" at all.
Thank you again to both of you.

Hi Tracy,

Feel free to e-mail with the locations and I would be happy to add them.  (kelly_forebaugh@hotmail.com).

The debate about the number of pins on the East Coast has been discussed before.  Several people noted that the population in the East is significantly larger than the West.  From what I understand the numbers are consistent with the area's population.

Another thing to note is that this map has been around for several years.  The number of pins that are on this map reflect several years of data collection.  Plus, this map includes AT/RT, as well as Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney (RTK), extra-renal tumors and any other spot that a Rhabdoid Tumor can grow.

That being said, I do wonder if Rhabdoid tumors are on the rise.  In 2005 eMedicine.com quoted that there were 10-15 RTK diagnosis per year.  In 2007 the new numbers are quoted at 15 a year in North America.  Either it is getting more common, the docs are getting better at correctly diagnosing it, or oncologist are doing a better job of communicating the number of new diagnosis.

One thing that I've noticed is that when the previous map expired, it started dropping children from the map. The earliest entries were dropped first. There are a lot of children from the east coast that fell off the map and weren't re-added when this new map went up. I only know this because I was the one who originally added all the kids to the map, one by one. I cannot do it again, but if anyone is so inclined, it would be nice to go through all of the children on the site again and cross check to see that they are still represented on the map. Thanks again Kelly for transferring all those children. I like looking at the map to see where everyone is located. Lara (Nicholas's mom)
