I noticed last night that there was a medication advertisement on the discussion board. I deleted it, but just wanted to let everyone know that if more pop up, I will get them off of here as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvienience.

O.k., everyone, more about the ads. I have deleted about 7 of them just today. So, I am going to write to Ken, and see if there is a way to keep these ads from getting on the discussion board. Sorry again.

Well, I have erased about a million ads today. They keep popping up on the same thread. So, I am going to try and change the subject line of that thread, and see if this will solve the problem. I hope that does not upset anyone.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know - I haven't erased any ads for a while today. Talked to Ken today, and he is going to try and figure out how to stop them from comming up on here. So, I want to leave them up to make sure he gets a look at them. Just didn't want you guys to think that I was ignoring it.

Hello Everyone. in order to stop the ads, I had to disable anonymous posting. I am pretty sure the ads were placed by malware programs designed to exploit certain forum software systems. Some of these 'robots' are very sophisticated, and can even create accounts on systems in order to place fake ads. If this becomes an issue, I will have to upgrade the site to the latest version of DotNetNuke which includes a much more sophisticated forum application that includes capcha technology (You have to read a weird looking picture back to post a message) such that spam robots can't post.

Hey everyone,
The ads have gotten really out of control on here. I have erased over 40 of them today. I finally tracked down the parent company that deals with the other companies who are sending these ads to us. I think that I can be enough of a bastard to make them find a way to block us from their affiliates mailing lists. Spent numerous hours today yelling at people on the phone. So, hopefull can get this problem fixed soon. I am sorry about the ads, I know they are distracting and inappropriate on here, and am doing everything I can to get rid of them

Another option for ad cleaning: we can give anyone who wants access the necessary permissions to delete the ads, until I can get enough time to upgrade this message board to software that incorporates a Captcha control preventing the ads.
I don't see how they are getting posted now as I have prevented anonymous posts.

And remember, this site is 100% community driven, if there is something you don't like about it, I will give you access so you can fix that issue!
I am eleven months having lost my Natalie, and I can tell you sometimes it is very hard to face this site/community/people. I very much wish to continue hosting the site, but it is just hard sometimes to handle some of the administrative details, which is where Brandy has stepped up, and so can you!

Hey, I am just wondering if Ken or anyone has erased any ads on here today. I have not seen any all day! Which is a first for quite a while....Anyway, I know that they are at least lessening, which is better.
