Natalie got some good news today after a minor roller coaster ride. Friday of last week, we got a call from Natalie's surgeon saying that the pathology had come back from the 'tissue' removed in her surgery on Monday. It turned out there was still cancerous tissue in her bronchial tubes, so he rescheduled her for today.

She had her 3rd surgery today (2nd last week, 1st in August of last year), and everything went better than expected: the surgeon was able to get all the 'bad' tissue out, and was not forced to remove the top lobe of her left lung. Anita called me crying tears of joy to tell me, so when she called, I thought she had bad news. Fortunately, I have been able to be with Natalie before each surgery, and each one is just as much of an emotional roller coaster. Of course, when the same surgeon is operating on your daughter that worked on her before, there is a bit more confidence the second time.

In any event, Natalie is recovering nicely in Pediatric ICU tonight at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa. She will most likely be there for another three or four days if anyone wants to stop by and visit :).
