Renee and Dexter,
Thank you for your email. I just wanted to let you know that Governor
Huntsman did declare September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Last Thursday he was honored to sign the declaration and I have attached
the declaration for you to read. Thank you for your interest.

Thank you
Cherilyn

Good Morning Cherilyn Bradford,

My name is Dexter Wattles. I am two years old and have been fighting
cancer for most of my life. I am asking for Utah to declare the month
of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Many states have
already proclaimed the month of September to represent this. I have
attached a copy of California's Proclamation that was adopted just a
week ago. I am sadly affected by childhood cancer along with thousands
of other families that are affected every month. Thousands of children
each month will never grow up to be Mothers or Fathers or Govenors.
Childhood cancer receives so littlGovernorsion and our children are
dying because of it. Declaring the month of September as Childhood
Cancer Awareness Month is only a small step, but it is a good start.
And, it is the first small steps that lead to great ones, like our
little children.

I have also attached a copy of my story of cancer. I am still
fighting. I am being treated by our great Primary Children's Medical
Center in the Salt Lake City Valley. The doctors say that since my
cancer has returned for a third time, I only have a few months. Please
read this with me and the other children in mind and with the
understanding that you can make a great difference with this
Proclamation. I thank you for reading this. I have great hopes and I
want to live!

Sincerely,

Renee Wattles Bell, for Dexter Wattles (2 years old)
