Please note, this post has been used in multiple places to seed discussion, etc.
Where do I begin? I asked the current RhabdoidKids.com site owner how he felt about me helping him with the site, given my enthusiasm with web technologies, etc. He has been managing the Rhabdoidkids.com site since 1998, and felt that it was time for him to move on, and offered to let me take over in the day to day management of the site. Until the site's turnover from development to live, the development site for RhabdoidKids.com version 2 can be found at http://rhabdoidkids.aciasoftware.com .
My mission statement for the RhabdoidKids.com web site: "Facilitate the free exchange of information and ideas to help families of Rhabdoid Kids cope with and treat Rhabdoid related cancers."
In developing this site, it is my goal to maintain all of the dignity and respect for all of the children and families of Rhabdoid Children, as I myself have lost my daughter, Natalie Kay Courtney, to this terrible disease. I personally had a problem with the original discussion board software in that it only allowed searching by a single term, and that I could not easily use Google to search the board, since all boards hosted by disc.server.com were hosted on the same URL. In my time writing on and responding to the original Rhabdoid Kids discussion list on the discserver.com web site, I came to understand the need for some persons to remain anonymous when they posted to the list. It took some compromise, but I was able to find discussion board software that would retain this important ability such that no thought, idea, or information would be restricted by the silly notion that one must be authorized to do so. If you wish to post anonymously in the discussion boards, by all means, do so!
Additionally, I will be more than happy to assist any interested persons in gaining administrative or moderator access to the web site, such that the entire community can have a role in the site's maintenance, moderation, etc.

Hi Laura:
Did you get the email? I am subscribed to this thread as well, and wanted to ensure I was getting emails when I submit a response, or someone else does. I also have the checkbox checked: I will look into it if for some reason we aren't getting email notifications of a response.
I had to use older forum software in order to support anonymous posting... and had to make a bunch of alterations to it to make it work with the newer version of the web site software.
Thanks for posting to this forum!!!

Thank you Ken! This site looks even better every day!! Just give us old timers a bit of time and questions before we start maneuvering around this site like the classic site. Thanks again! Christy

Ken,
Is there any way we can move Michael Woodroffe to the top of the Rhabdoid kids? We are all here becuase of what his Dave did and it just doesn't seem right with him randomly placed on the list. Just a thought.

Hi, Ken! The site looks good. Just takes a little getting used to for those of us who have been around for awhile. I have a question: Will you be doing the spam control on the websites that Dave created for some of us? I used to e-mail him when there was junk in my daughter's guest book and he took care of it. My daughter is Lindsay Anne McKenzie. Currently there are some drug ads/ links in her book. I wonder if other folks are having this problem, too. Thanks for all you are doing; I look forward to seeing Lindsay among the Angels on this new site. Linda McK
