Kids Flip Flops

Much concern about Kids Flip Flops is causing some controversy. Parents are wondering if it is safe for their children to wear flip flops. First of all, flip flops are designed for casual wear at the beach or around swimming pools for short period of time. Wearing them, in this situation, makes sense. However, the fashion world has made flip flop wearing acceptable for general wear for all occasions. The wearing of flip flops is trendy and hip, and their popularity makes this type of footwear very popular with teenagers and young adults.

Flip Flop wearing in the general population causes parents to have children, many quite young, who want to emulate teenagers and fashion models. Many of these same parents wear flip flops on a regular basis, too. Since children tend to want to mimic the activities of those around them, and even more-so, those who are featured in popular society, they want to wear them, too. Parents, therefore, are placed in a very difficult position.

While the media is promoting the regular wear of flip flops in pop culture, the same media, in other outlets, is reporting health problems connected to the regular wearing of these flat, non-supporting footwear products. To make matters worse, these health problems are happening to children, at very young ages.

Children who wear flip flops more than they should, which means that they are not just wearing them at the beach or around swimming pools, are experiencing health issues. Some are complaining of aching feet, sore knees, and lower back pain. The concern is that these children are wearing unsupported footwear, sometimes on a daily basis.

The Kids Flip Flops Isse

Wearing unsupported footwear takes its toll on the spinal area. The real culprit is that postural distortions are created when the spine is not in perfect alignment. Flip flops, basically, toss the alignment of the spine, out of whack. These distortions to proper posture cause pain in the lower and upper torso areas, the knees, and even the toes.

This pain is caused because the the extensive neural network that sends messages to and from the brain is interrupted by the imbalance of the spine. The natural electrical impulses can handle short time periods of distortion, but it does not do well with longer blocks of time. This is the main reason why the wearing of flip flops is causing distress and health issues.

Children, because they are still growing and developing, have more issues with being non-supported in their footwear, which causes the random aches and pains to appear sooner than with older people. Over time, though, all regular flip flop wearing people do develop the same painful symptoms.

Parents faced with wanting to allow their children to be hip and fashionable in flip flop wear and, on the other side of it, wanting their children to have solid postures, are in a difficult position. However, the good news is that some flip flop manufacturing agents are helping them out. There are companies that produce flip flops with arch support. These same companies are also adding cushioning, solid traction, and sturdy construction that moves along with the feet. This added construction to basic flip flops is encouraging.

The good news, therefore, is that the new generation of flip flops are safe for children, teenagers, and adults. While the cost of these newer style of reinforced flip flops are more than regular ones, the investment for parents is well worth the price. With these new versions of flip flops hitting the markets, parents can relax about the flip flop controversy.
